Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the most frequent questions we get from our guests

Is Wi-Fi Available at the hotel?
Yes, WiFi is free for all guests throughout the entire hotel, including meeting space.
How can I book a tour to the Great wall and how far is it?
You can contact our concierge desk to help you book a tour to the Great Wall. There are different sections of the Great Wall and each section has its own unique characteristics. The most popular section is at Badaling, which will take around 1 hour with a car. You could also visit Mutianyu which takes around 1,5 hours by car and is a more authentic section of the wall.
How can I visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City?
The Forbidden City is only a short 30-minute walk from the hotel and lies just north of Tiananmen Square. We recommend to first visit Tiananmen Square, and use the one-way entrance into the Forbidden City. You can enquire at our concierge desk for directions and ticket options. Please remember to take your passport with you when visiting both Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
Which other places in Beijing are worth visiting?
Beijing is full of rich cultural history. While most visitors know about Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, there’s many other interesting places to visit. Certainly, don’t skip a visit to the Temple of Heaven and surrounding parks, the Summer Palace, the Drum & Bell Towers and Lama Temple. For a relaxing afternoon stroll, you can visit Jingshan Park, Beihai Park and Houhai lake. For those who want to shop till you drop, you can walk to Wangfujing Street and Oriental Plaza to find some of Beijing’s best shops. Don’t skip the Pearl Market and Silk Street either. For nightlife, Wangfujing has plenty of dining options & entertainment, but you could also visit the bustling Sanlitun or Gulou areas of the city.
Where can I change money?
There are various major banks in and around the hotel area. Most banks are open during business hours, and some may be open on Saturdays. Alternatively, there is a currency exchange machine at the hotel that accepts most major currencies.
How do I get to the hotel from the airport and what is the cost?
Legendale Hotel offers airport pick-up and drop off service for guests staying at the hotel. Please book this service at least 24 hours prior to arrival. The rates vary, based on how many passengers there are and how much luggage you carry. Please call the hotel on +86 10 8511 3388 to enquire about rates and availability. The ride should take around 60-90 minutes, subject to traffic congestion. Alternatively, a licensed Beijing taxi will cost anywhere between CNY 100-150. When arriving at the airport, always follow the signs to the official taxi stands, where airport staff regulate the taxi queue. Show the hotel name and address written in Chinese, as English is not widely spoken amongst Beijing’s taxi drivers. For departures, our concierge team can assist to book a taxi for you.
Are there any shuttles to the airport?
Yes, there are two shuttle options to and from the airport. There’s the Airport Express train, which takes around 20 minutes from the airport to Dongzhimen Station. From Dongzhimen, you can take the Beijing Subway to get to the hotel, which is next to Dengshikou station Exit C. Alternatively, you can also take the airport shuttle bus. This bus departs across the road from Legendale Hotel (in front of the Regent Hotel). Our concierge team can help you with tickets & availability.
Are there subway cards for 2/3/7 days?
There are no 2/3/7-day subway cards, but you can get a subway card that you top up as you travel. The Beijing Subway is inexpensive, so there is no need to charge you card with a lot of money. Each station has machines with English instructions and staff who can help you to top up.
Is there a City Bus sightseeing tour?
Beijing does not have a City Bus sightseeing tour. Why not rent bicycles from the hotel to see the city on two wheels?
